so i had my first interview at the Oleary car dealership. Had to complete a personality survey they use for training purpose if i get the job. I'll have to talk to 2 other guys either tomorrow or thursday before they determine if i'm hired. the crappy part is though, i stubbed my toe and broke it before i left for the interview. luckily it didn't really start to hurt until afterwards. but now i got a nasty limp. kinda sucks, but whatcha gonna do? The Sacomas Gig
Three more days to the big show at Sacomas Grill. The expected turn out is upwards of 200 people, and the scheduled bands are as follows: The Waffle Factory (us), Dead and Lovely Knights, and The Crosstown Rivals. The lead singer from The Missing may also be doing and acoustic set, but I haven't been given confirmation on that as of yet. However, this promises to be a good show. John, being that you are the only other band member with lj, pls pass this on if you see the italian and the hippie before i do. I was thinkin' for the cappy jam night, we should do Fire and El Escape. I can pull those off easy on a basic kit. And i think we could work on the dirge for our sixth orignal for our gig. But we just need some lyrics for El escape and i think we can kick some ass at the cappy, and in general. So if you and keith can handle the lyrics, i'll start organizing the set list and we'll see where we stand next weekend. Until then, take her easy...and if she's easy, take her twice! Workin' hard!
Man has this week ever been busy! But its a very good kinda busy (with the exception of going to work). Every morning this week, i've spent at least 2 hours on the drums, just practicing. Except yesterday, cause i slept in, but i still got in a half an hour. I've finished writing 2 songs, i've been practicing Suck my Kiss and got it down, and i've got a good portion of a Mars Volta song down. Man it feels great!! I wish i had more time to play. John, i've got araby and at war with the worlds figured out. Just leave the ending to araby the way you had it, and we'll try it again on Sunday. I can't jam saturday, unfortuatly, cause i have to take kelly to woodstock to make wreaths. It sucks, but at least i get to make a little extra cash loading trees for the old man. The weekend after that i will be here all weekend, though. We're going to do some Christmas decorating on that Saturday, but we should be all cleared to jam in the evening, and all of that sunday. Anyway, after i'm finished learning that mars volta song, what should i work on next? Other shit thats going down (point form): - Whitey got fixed and delawed yesterday. Yo john!
I've been working on the revised Araby all week, and i've got upto the break figured out. Just gotta work on the end now, and then practice to smooth it out. Anyhow, the next time we play it, its gonna kick ass! Unfortunatly i have found out i have to cut trees this weekend so i might not be able to jam this weekend. It depends on what time i get back Sunday. I'll keep you posted. I think though, after i'm done with araby, i'm gonna start playing around with that song where we all start out together. I was listening to that and it went surprisingly well for a random jam. So, ya, you can now consider yourself up to date on what i've been working on. Halloweenie!!
Hey!!! How y'all doin'? This post is to inform you of an upcoming Halloween party that will be "going down" on October, Saturday 28. It will be held at my spot (aka. the love shack), 16 glenrose st., lincoln... It'll be GOOD TIMES!! Potential crashing arrangements include the couch, the futon, the recliner, and i'll try to have an air mattress. I hope to see the following people there: John Phil and Tiffany Keith Gerrit Esmily and Dan **If you guys just happen to be in town, you should swing by** (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) I know its not likely, but Diana, if by some stroke of luck you're in fredericton on Halloween, you and your Kel are invited. Anik Mel Phil - Your old coworkers from deluxe (Jill and vanessa) will be there too. And this is way off topic, but (speaking of deluxe) what ever came of that Mimi character?
